Ways in which the Berean Baptist Church serves its members, the Davenport Community, and world-wide missions:
Children’s Wednesday Evening Programs
Each Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30, approximately 45 intercity children are either dropped off by parents and grandparents or picked up with church vans and brought to the church for an evening of games, activities, food and bible studies. Church members and the Pastors volunteer their time mentoring and teaching the Buzzy Bees (3-5 year olds), the God’s Kids Club (grades 1-6), The Way (grades 7-8) and L.I.F.E. (grades 9-12). Attendance and successful completion of the Bible lessons allows the children to earn their way to an annual trip to Adventureland for a day in Des Moines.
Worldwide Mission Support
Berean Baptist Church supports not only local causes in the Quad Cities, but missionaries throughout the world.
Monthly support goes to Pregnancy Resources (https://qcpregnancy.org/facts/).
Pregnancy Resources provides services for women with unplanned pregnancy in understanding the options available. They do not perform or make referrals for abortions. They have a mobile medical clinic that makes stops throughout the Quad Cities. They provide medical appointments, abortion information, life and care before birth, and emotional support.
One Eighty of Davenport (https://www.oneeighty.org/) equips people facing crisis, poverty and addiction to invest in healthy relationships, overcome barriers to freedom, and encounter a life of hope in Christ.
Missionaries and their families are supported monthly around the world including Africa, Argentina, Ireland, Brazil, Ireland, and one that works with international students at the University of Iowa. Monthly support amounts to approximately $4,000 ($48,000 annually) to over 15 missionary families and agencies.
Berean Baptist Church Family
Through the giving of tithes and offerings, the church members (approximately 110 attendees including children) give out of what God has provided them which amounts to just under an annual budget of $200,000. The members of the church family take care of one another mentally, physically and spiritually. From Sunday morning services, to providing baptisms, weddings, funerals, we support one another through times of joyfulness, sickness, and sorrow. We are all a part of the family of God. The mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
